Asprou House

Residential
August
2006
Penarth, United Kingdom
12 weeks
£50,000

This project involved transforming a typical Victorian mid-terraced townhouse into a modern home conducive to family life as we know it today. Our philosophy was to retain the integrity of the front whilst completely transforming the rear of the house creating a better connection between garden and private spaces – a concept which we find is applicable to most period home extension renovations.

The critical aims for this project was to create a large open plan space which accommodated a kitchen, dining space, living space and play area — combined with level connection with the garden via bi-fold opening doors maximising the natural daylight into the house. The renovations incorporated underfloor heating throughout the new and old parts of the house effected by the extension whilst improving the insulation value and heating efficiency of the house.
